Ghost in the Shell (2017) Movie Review: Revenge is a Dish Best Served...

comments

It was one of my most anticipated movies of 2017. What struck me the most was its visual style. Futuristic, vibrant and bright with a flamboyant colour palette- a consistent tone dotted all over the movie's posters and promotional details- it was screaming wildly for attention and promised to pack a lot of fun.

Add to that the many great things I had heard about the iconic anime despite having not watched it before- the themes it explores such as the definition of humanity in an advanced society where minds could be transplanted- there is even a page on "Philosophy of Ghost in the Shell" on Wikipedia- and I had high hopes of a good time.

An open letter to Facebook to refine its abysmal inbox filter

Dear Facebook

I am writing to express my utmost disappointment at your message filtering system's abysmal standards of incompetence.

Unearthing this compelling invitation from the deepest recesses of my inbox has been immeasurably distressing. I believe many others have been similarly encumbered by your integrated electronic communications technology.

Keira Knightley shines in Begin Again

comments
"But are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark?"

You know you've watched a great movie when you walk out of the cinema smiling. Amidst the torrent of summer blockbusters flooding the cinemas, Begin Again is a welcome respite to the big-budget, albeit exhausting and depthless box-office rakers. It is a deep and intricate exploration of music-making and human relationships. Dan (Mark Ruffalo) is a disgraced record label executive who's down on his luck, having been fired from the very company which he founded, for refusing to give in to the superficial trappings of today's music scene. Greta (Keira Knightley) and her long-time boyfriend Dave (Adam Levine) are songwriting partners who fall out

The Dark Knight Rises Movie Review (4.5/5)

comments

Happy New Year! My gift to you readers to usher in the new year are 2 movie reviews which are published on the same day! Here's another movie review which I did some time ago on Facebook too. This time, it's The Dark Knight Rises, possibly one of my favourite movies of 2012. This movie delivers almost everything: a gripping story, superb action, meaningful character development, euphonious scores by Hans Zimmer and so much more. Take out that comfy couch of yours and have a good, long and enjoyable read. Enjoy!

Amazing Spider-Man Movie Review (5/5)

comments
Here's a movie review of the Amazing Spider-Man which I wrote and posted over on my Facebook a while ago. I thought it could make for some fresh content for you readers as I am still on a hiatus from blogging due to my hectic schedule. I was blown away by the movie and decided to watch it twice, initially in 2D Digital and again in 3D. After which, I made a mental note never to watch a movie more than once again in a cinema, due to the lack of anticipation and suspense which plays to the audience's enjoyment of the movie when watching it for the first time. Take that comfy couch of yours out again and enjoy!

Amazing Spider-man is the best movie which I’ve caught so far this year.
