Ghost in the Shell (2017) Movie Review: Revenge is a Dish Best Served...

It was one of my most anticipated movies of 2017. What struck me the most was its visual style. Futuristic, vibrant and bright with a flamboyant colour palette- a consistent tone dotted all over the movie's posters and promotional details- it was screaming wildly for attention and promised to pack a lot of fun.

Add to that the many great things I had heard about the iconic anime despite having not watched it before- the themes it explores such as the definition of humanity in an advanced society where minds could be transplanted- there is even a page on "Philosophy of Ghost in the Shell" on Wikipedia- and I had high hopes of a good time.

Put Now You See Me, Quentin Taratino and Guardians of the Galaxy together and what do you get? Lupin the Third, an eclectic and entertaining globe-trotting crime caper that manages to mesh together a romantic subplot, a katana-wielding samurai, superb gun-toting action, humour, craftiness and fistfights a many. Barely a month after its August 30 premiere in Japan, Lupin the Third hits Singapore's shores.

Wake, Up Girls! sheds some light on Japan's idol industry

It is advisable to watch the prequel movie, 「Wake Up, Girls! Shichinin no Idol」 first before watching the actual anime series. As with all great works, there is a method to best appreciate it.

Wake Up, Girls! is a great idol anime with catchy songs and nice characters but above all, it has a moving and realistic story.

Having finally watched Love Live!, I must say it was an anime that I enjoyed incredibly. It is entertaining, funny and the characters’ lifelike interactions are delightful to watch, which comes as no surprise, from an anime which has broken so many records. The songs are of high quality both melodically and vocally, and there is ample character development as we watch the girls struggle to save their school and train to become school idols.

Happy New Year! My gift to you readers to usher in the new year are 2 movie reviews which are published on the same day! Here's another movie review which I did some time ago on Facebook too. This time, it's The Dark Knight Rises, possibly one of my favourite movies of 2012. This movie delivers almost everything: a gripping story, superb action, meaningful character development, euphonious scores by Hans Zimmer and so much more. Amazing Spider-Man Movie Review (5/5)

Here's a movie review of the Amazing Spider-Man which I wrote and posted over on my Facebook a while ago. I thought it could make for some fresh content for you readers as I am still on a hiatus from blogging due to my hectic schedule. I was blown away by the movie and decided to watch it twice, initially in 2D Digital and again in 3D. After which, I made a mental note never to watch a movie more than once again in a cinema, due to the lack of anticipation and suspense which plays to the audience's enjoyment of the movie when watching it for the first time. Take that comfy couch of yours out again and enjoy!
