第24回星蘭祭 Seiransai 2014 @ Waseda Shibuya Senior High

Yesterday, I attended my first Japanese school festival at Waseda Shibuya Senior High School Singapore with my friends Jia Wei and Xi Hua! The students were friendly and polite, the cafeteria food was delicious, the decorations were impressive, and the games and performances were enjoyable! It was the 24th Seiransai 星蘭祭 organised by Waseda Shibuya Senior High School Singapore. Feels good to be back in school! \(^▽^)/

The facade which greets you as you enter the school! This year''s theme is "Four Seasons 春秋冬"! It has a very traditional festival-like feel to it!

Wake, Up Girls! sheds some light on Japan's idol industry

It is advisable to watch the prequel movie, 「Wake Up, Girls! Shichinin no Idol」 first before watching the actual anime series. As with all great works, there is a method to best appreciate it.

Wake Up, Girls! is a great idol anime with catchy songs and nice characters but above all, it has a moving and realistic story.

Having finally watched Love Live!, I must say it was an anime that I enjoyed incredibly. It is entertaining, funny and the characters’ lifelike interactions are delightful to watch, which comes as no surprise, from an anime which has broken so many records. The songs are of high quality both melodically and vocally, and there is ample character development as we watch the girls struggle to save their school and train to become school idols.

An open letter to Facebook to refine its abysmal inbox filter

Dear Facebook

I am writing to express my utmost disappointment at your message filtering system's abysmal standards of incompetence.

Unearthing this compelling invitation from the deepest recesses of my inbox has been immeasurably distressing. I believe many others have been similarly encumbered by your integrated electronic communications technology.

Keira Knightley shines in Begin Again

"But are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark?"

You know you've watched a great movie when you walk out of the cinema smiling. Amidst the torrent of summer blockbusters flooding the cinemas, Begin Again is a welcome respite to the big-budget, albeit exhausting and depthless box-office rakers. It is a deep and intricate exploration of music-making and human relationships. Dan (Mark Ruffalo) is a disgraced record label executive who's down on his luck, having been fired from the very company which he founded, for refusing to give in to the superficial trappings of today's music scene. Greta (Keira Knightley) and her long-time boyfriend Dave (Adam Levine) are songwriting partners who fall out
