Chara-Ani, Cospa, Pony Canyon, and More Exhibitors at CharaExpo 2015

comments

Many new exhibitors including Chara-Ani, Cospa and Pony Canyon and the official floor plan for the convention were announced at the second CharaExpo press conference on May 20. They join those previously-announced such as Good Smile Company, Aniplex, Kotobukiya, VisualArt's and Nitroplus. The full list of new exhibitors announced includes Exit Tunes, Tokyo Game Show, Nippon Animation, Anicrush, INCS toenter Co. Ltd, Xarts, Frontier Works Inc., AKB48 Official Treasure Cards, Bilibili Co. Ltd and a certain MAGICAL SUITE PRISM NANA. For those in the dark, INCS toenter Co. Ltd is a Japanese music management company managing artists such as supercell, livetune, Hachioji-P and yanaginagi. One of these artists might just make a guest appearance on the day itself so keep an eye out for them.

CHARA-ANI

Chara-Ani is an anime merchandise production and distribution company, producing and distributing all varieties of merchandise from scale figures to Blu-ray and DVD boxed sets, posters, towels, bedsheets, rubber straps and even distributing singles for artists such as everying! (I hope they come down to Singapore one day!) In essence, anything you can find on Chara-Ani.com. It will be interesting to see what assortment of goods they will be bringing with them to Singapore for CharaExpo 2015.

PONY CANYON

Pony Canyon is a Japanese company involved in the production and distribution of music, Blu-rays and DVDs, more recently known for promoting Korean girl group Crayon Pop's foray into Japan. Notable artists such as Maaya Uchida, Ayana Taketatsu, Idoling!!!, ANGERME (formerly S/mileage) and Sound Horizon are signed to the Pony Canyon label. Keep a lookout for their booth; you might be able to purchase some Japan-exclusive albums and singles there.

COSPA IS MAKING ITS RETURN TO SINGAPORE

Surprisingly unannounced and hidden in the media kit for CharaExpo is COSPA. After the silent exit of its Singapore subsidiary COSPA SEA in 2012, COSPA is finally making a limited return to Singapore for CharaExpo 2015. Yes, that means that you will be able to get the original COSPA anime merchandise you've always yearned for without ordering from online Japanese shops such as Hobby Search and Amiami. Event-exclusive early-release T-shirts from popular animes THE iDOLM@STER: Cinderella Girls and Kantai Collection will be available so drop by the COSPA booth to take a look!

MAGICAL SUITE PRISM NANA is a series of animated promotional pilot videos produced by SHAFT, with original character designs by Kantoku (Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko). There is little information on what the booth will bring to the event but as it takes up substantial space, do expect some exclusive merchandise at the event. In addition, who doesn't like SHAFT and Kantoku? Did I forget to mention that the protagonists are voiced by Mimori Suzuko (Love Live!), Asami Imai (THE iDOLM@STER) and Eri Kitamura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)? Now, this is surely something to watch out for.
